The Tourist Society "Vasil Levski" (Karlovo) works within the Network of the European protected areas, organized in  (PAN) Protected Area Network Parks.  The PAN Parks logo is a trademark for outstanding nature and high quality tourism facilities, well-balanced with the needs of wilderness protection.

The Society is registered by Law for Judicial entities with Non-Economic Purpose under the umbrella of the Bulgarian Tourist Union (BTU - БТС).  The Society runs 3 clubs: 
1. Pedestrian tourism
2. Orientation
3. Alpinism

This is a voluntary, self-dependent, nonpolitical and independent organization for social tourism, for sport, tourism, culture; for protection of Nature and Ecology.  This defends the interests of members to the State, local self-government and authority, public and nongovernmental organizations, juridical and private persons.

The Society encourages various forms of tourism, mountaineering and sport activity in cooperation with the Municipality in social policy for improving the health of the population, interaction with the Nature and Spiritual and Emotional Development of the Personality.  The Society is the proprietor of the mountain lodges: Hubavetz, Balkan Roses, Vasil Levski, Ravnetz and Svejen.
