The Karlovo Tourism Society "Vasil Levski" & Volunteers from the United States organization Peace Corps
 
Volunteers who have partnered with the Vasil Levski Tourism Society, have supported this organization by increasing the capasity of its tourism efforts; establishing contacts, creating environmental education activities and events for interested individuals as well as writting grants to finance projects designed to advance tourism in this community.

The Peace Corps' mission has three simple goals:
- Helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.
- Helping promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.
- Helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.

Currently the Peace Corps has 8,079 Volunteers in 68 posts serving 74 countries in the areas of: Education: 36% Health & HIV/AIDS: 21% Business: 15% Environment: 14% Youth: 6% Agriculture: 5% Other: 4%
The Peace Corps will continue to address global needs as they arise.
Europe, Mediterranean and Asia Region More than 48,250 Volunteers have served in the Europe, Mediterranean, and Asia (EMA) region since 1961. At the end of fiscal year 2006, EMA will have 2,501 Volunteers and trainees working in 20 countries, most of which are undergoing rapid economic and social changes. Throughout the region, Volunteers work with governments, local organizations, and communities to provide needed technical expertise and promote cross-cultural understanding. Together, Volunteers and their counterparts work to address changing needs in agriculture, business, education, the environment, and health.
